ABOUT THE PROJECT
The DIVYA LAKHAN VIGRAH, being presented and proposed by SHIVRAJ HELPING HAND FOUNDATION is a project with the ambitious goal of installing a one of a kind 151 feet tall Bronze statue (total height 184 feet) of Lord Lakshman at the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow.
The incomparable beauty and divinity of Lord Lakshman’s statue will mesmerize the public and acquaint them with the religious significance associated with the city’s origins. This spiritualstatue, located in the heart of modern Lucknow, will become a major attraction for all travellers, showcasing its magnificent presence at the junction of the Metro station, railway station, and bus station.
This magnificent statue will be a symbol of our cultural heritage and will make the public aware of the glorious history of Lucknow city. There are also plans to build a museum too along with Lord Lakshman’s statue in the available space for this purpose. With its historical significance, this record-breaking statue of Lord Lakshman will undoubtedly become a reason of pride for Lucknow at it will be the tallest, one-of-a-kind statue of Lord Lakshman in the world.
Our foundation believes that this grand statue, adorning the courtyard of Lucknow Junction, will become a source of divine experience for the visitors and onlookers. As the grand Lord Ram temple has already been constructed in Ayodhya, this new distinctive identity of Lucknow will emerge as a significant spiritual link between Lucknow and Ayodhya and will become a vital means of spiritual connection.
OBJECTIVE
The history of the founding of Lucknow, the capital and political center of Uttar Pradesh, is a history in itself that has become increasingly distant from the common people, but it is as attractive as it’s mythological importance.
According to ancient Indian history, the origin of Lucknow is linked to the mythological era of the Suryavanshi dynasty. It is believed that Lord Sri Ramchandra, the revered hero and embodiment of righteousness and morality in the epic Ramayana, following the conquest and return from Lanka appointed his beloved younger brother Lord Lakshman to govern the present-day city of Lucknow. Immersed in devotion to his elder brother, Lord Lakshman laid the foundation of the city of Lucknow, obediently following his instructions. Based on beliefs, he chose a place near the banks of the mythical Gomti River and established this city, which was then known as Lakshmanpur. Later, Lakshmanpur became popularly known as Lucknow in common parlance. In fact, the city of Lucknow is an unparalleled gift given by Lord Sri Ram’s younger brother, Lord Lakshman to the psyche of the people. However, it is unfortunate that Lord Lakshman has been distanced from Lucknow. The goal of our institution is to restore Lucknow to its old glorious identity.
Transformed from Lakshmanpur, the present name of this city came into existence in the eleventh century, but it is unfortunate that the world is completely unaware of the rich cultural and religious history of this city.
Today, the identity of Lucknow is only associated with the Mughal-era monuments and places built by the British. It is our moral duty to re-establish the true identity of Lucknow. It is necessary that today’s youth are not deprived of the cultural heritage and mythological significance ofLucknow, and this can be made possible only when Lord Lakshman’s statue is installed as a symbol of past glory of this city.
REASON FOR THE LOCATION
Placing the statue at Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow will not only fulfil our objective but will also enhance its popularity, with its rapid promotion in front of the people. Being the primary railway station of Lucknow and having all means of connectivity and reach, Charbagh is the best place where Lord Lakshman’s statue can become the main attraction and play an important role in establishing cultural consciousness in the masses. Charbagh Railway Station is the gateway to Lucknow, where a large number of tourists and travellers from all over the country and abroad arrive on a daily basis. As soon as travellers enter Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station and see the huge bronze statue of Lord Lakshman, they will certainly be emotionally moved and will be able to recognize and appreciate the true identity of Lucknow.
